How much will it cost to cruise? I've been looking at lots of websites, but it's hard to get specific information from anyone. I guess it matters on your personal preferences and life style choices. I found a great article that goes over cost information.
Cost of Cruising
Based on this article and my budget, we hope to be in the moderate category and spend around $2,000 a month to cruise.
Next question is how much to spend on a boat. We understand that we will have to work on our boat while away, but don't want it to take up all our time. Right now the budget is $125,000 to buy and boat and outfit it for cruising. Here's a good article on budget cruisers.
Affordable Cruisers
I'm also trying to save up two years worth of cruising before we leave, and have a dividend paying account to help with the dwindling kitty. If all goes well, we should be able to retire at 62, leave later that year, and be able to cruise for at least 3-years. After that, who knows?
