More Books
So I'm writing this thinking planning ahead for 9-10 years is way too much time. After reading several books, it does look like the average time from dream to reality is about 7-years; so maybe this is not too far off. Here are two more books I've read:
The Cruisers Handbook of Fishing
You better REALLY be into fishing if you are going to enjoy this book. I've been fishing for many years and found the amount of detail in this book to be really amazing. If you just want some general ideas about fishing while cruising, you will find this book too detailed for you.
The Cruising Life
I hate to say that anything is a "must read", but this is as close as you can get to that category. Really practical advise about how to prepare for cruising and start living the lifestyle now (even though you are still preparing). I've made some changes in my current lifestyle as a result of this book (it's all about feeding the Kitty) and have started to simplify my life. After March 1, 2014 (my son is getting married and we are helping out), a new frugal Drew will be emerging. Maybe I can live the dream even sooner.
Nice weekend ahead and I should be able to get into some sailing on Sunday.
