Furling Halyard Fix?

So I either fixed the furling halyard or totally broke it. We were trying to fish the new halyard through with an electricians snake and everything went well until we got to the end. I forced the halyard through and the plastic piece broke.
Broken Piece

Here's my glue job. Not pretty but if I holds I will paint it so it looks better.

Stay Away
Now I put some saw horses out to keep everyone away. Hopefully this will hold. I'm not too worried as the cable holds this down, but it would be nice to get this functioning properly. These mistakes are all good lessons to prepare me for the future. I need to think things through before I act.

Hard to believe that we can launch the boat in a little over 2 weeks time. We are still skiing but things are warming up quickly. I just need to touchup paint the bottom in a few areas, grease/lube the outboard and we should be ready to go. Plan is to get a LOT of sailing in this year and take ASA 104.
Little Snow

Not much snow left at this point.
