The Lake

We've been sailing in a few more exciting locations (BVI, Chesapeake and soon the Spanish Virgin Islands) but most of our sailing is still on Lake Nockamixon. We have a small 19 foot fractional sloop on the lake and keep it in the slip. Our friends Karen and Bruce also keep a sailboat on the lake so sometimes we meet up for rafting sessions. The sailing can be a bit frustrating with swirling winds, but it's still a lot of fun.

The season is slowly coming to a close. We're required to take the boats out by 10/31 so that only leaves one last weekend for us as we're going to be in Baltimore the last weekend of October. We took the boat out yesterday hoping for a spirited sail but the winds did not cooperate. The sailing club had a race going on and we did enjoy the last sail of the season on the lake. Next weekend will be haul out and clean up.

The race is on

Which side is the wind on now?

Last trip of the season will be in the Spanish Virgin Islands in December. I like going out with a bang.
