It's been a pretty strange spring. Lots of rain and not much wind. We had Turtle's Krawl out for one short sail that mostly turned into a motor sail. With my mother not feeling well lately, I've had very little chance to go sailing so far this year.
Saturday, June 3rd was our first chance at a real sail in a while. The wind was pretty strong for Lake Nockamixon with 15 knots plus and extremely gusty. Some people had a reef in but we choose to go with full sails. We got out after the morning rain and sailed up to the Lake House on what was mostly a close reach wth some close hauling. A little pinching into the wind and letting out the main kept us heeled at a reasonable level. The lake was full of boats out enjoying the wind.

We will mostly be lake sailing with the Turtle this summer and enjoying the local scene. There are a few trips planned this year with a Catamaran Sailing class planned for October and a return trip to BVI. See you on the Lake!
